This lovely summer post comes from our Spanish colleague Mami Crafter. We all know that at this time of year fruit is something we all crave, not only at the table, but also as a decorative element and this idea for customising reusable shoppers is both speedy and summery.
This season Dolce & Gabbana have used fruit emblems and graphics in their clothes and accessories, soour tutorial takes inspiration from their designs…
So if you’re not thinking of spending a lot of money on accessories this summer, this tutorial is for you. We are going to turn these cheap pieces into something on trend.

Start making summer Dolce & Gabbana style fruit Bags
First, let’s make a shopping bag with a colorful watermelon. For this, we are going to use the Pinty Plus AQUA sprays in YELLOW CHICK, GREEN KIWI and AURORA RED colors. We will draw the slice with a permanent black marker:
We put on the masking tape and newspapers on the bag to isolate the area that we want to spray pink.
We spray the pink paint on the area keeping 20cm from our project. You will see that it covers perfectly with a single thin layer:
We isolate the yellow zone with the tape and the newspaper.
And paint the area with the same technique
We repeat with the green, in this case, Mami Crafter has left more space for the green band to be thicker:
And here's the finished result...
The second project was to customize a string bag with a wooden bowl added to give it a base:
Since the eco bag is a dusty pink color, you have chosen the color BLACK KING to create contrast:
After giving a thin layer of spray to the whole bowl and letting it dry, we can put it inside the string bag...
And finally we will customise the circular bag. There are loads of these around this summer so let's make this one a bit different by painting one side using GREEN KIWI and ORANGE APRICOT colors:
We protect well the areas that we do not want to paint with tape and newspapers:
We paint the base color, in this case, the green:
Once dry, we define the areas that we want to mark as segments using the masking tape:
Then we spray with the yellow and we’re done!
